Living Maps in Sound & Texture

  • Mosaic Rooms 226 Cromwell Road London SW5 0SW United Kingdom (map)

Experience voices from the Gazan community, in an interactive listening session, fundraiser and discussion with Ambient Gaza & Rim Irscheid.

This session combines engaged listening with touch, guided by an audio tour of Gaza – from singing on the beach, to a beloved bookshop in Gaza City, to an aunt's farmland in Rafah. Participants can feel those words on a huge hand embroidered banner and leave written responses to communities speaking from a Gaza still under siege. Afterwards, join art collective Ambient Gaza and textile artist Rim Irscheid for a conversation on how we engage with Gazan life, push back against dehumanising media narratives, and co-create vocabulary for agency and hope.

100% of funds raised go to Gazan Aid see www.ambientgaza.org/#donate for more details.

Part of Sounding Towards, a five-month project transforming the gallery into a site for listening, sonic experimentation and conviviality.
